Sauti’s Quarterly User Insights Report: July – September 2022

In this quarterly report, we have analysed user growth and traders’ interactions with the Sauti market and trade information platforms in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda between July – September 2022.
2022 Q3 saw 8,434 new users access all our regional platforms. Our Kenyan platform saw the majority of growth with 7,657 new users, followed by Uganda with 493 new users. Since our Q2 2022 Report, cross-border trade from Tanzania has decreased by 11 percentage points to 10%.

In this quarterly report, we have analysed user growth and traders’ interactions with the Sauti market and trade information platforms in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda between April – June 2022.
2022 Q1 saw 6,474 new users access all our regional platforms. Our Kenyan platform saw the majority of growth with 5657 new users, followed by Tanzania with 410 new users. Since our Q3-Q4 2021 Report, trade within domestic markets has increased in Tanzania by 5 percentage points to 86% while the country’s cross-border trade has decreased by 5 percentage points up to 14%.

In this quarterly report, we have analysed user growth and interactions with the Sauti market and trade information platforms in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.

2021 Q4 saw 10,667 new users access all our regional platforms. Our Kenyan platform saw the majority of growth with 9,190 new users, followed by Uganda with 780 new users. Since our Q2-Q3 2021 Report, trade within domestic markets has decreased in Tanzania by 5 percentage points to 81% while the country’s cross-border trade has increased by 5 percentage points up to 19%

2021 Q3 saw 15,408 new users access all our regional platforms. Our Kenya and Uganda platforms saw the majority of growth, mostly driven by sensitization activities throughout each country. We also added new information features to our Kenyan platform: information on health insurance and crop and poultry farming. In all four countries, the majority of price requests remain within domestic markets, however, cross-border trade from Uganda has decreased by 5 percentage points – down to 19% – since our Q1-Q2 2021 Report.

In this quarterly report, we have analysed user growth and interactions with the Sauti platforms in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. The Q2 2021 quarter saw 13,039 new users access the platform. Our Kenya platform saw the largest growth over the quarter, mostly driven by our feature expansion, which now includes: general health, business operations, and agriculture information. In all four countries, the majority of price requests remain within domestic markets, however, cross-border trade from Kenya has increased by nearly 20 percentage points since the Q1 2021 Report.
