Sauti’s Presentation at the IKI Networking and Knowledge Sharing Event

Sauti East Africa had a great time at the International Climate Initiative Networking and Knowledge Sharing Event in Nairobi last week, exploring the nexus of climate-smart agriculture and effective implementation strategies.

The event featured speeches from the German Ambassador to Kenya, insights from IKI grant success stories like Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF), and a panel discussion that illuminated the impactful roles of small actors in climate settings.

Sauti presented our successes with ‘Sauti Soko’, our virtual marketplace connecting MSMEs to new markets, buyers, and sellers – using USSD, SMS, and WhatsApp technologies that are *already* widespread through East Africa. We highlighted that by leveraging technologies that East African MSMEs frequently use, rather than deploying a new smartphone app or website, we drastically improve project’s scale, reach, and impact!

Together with esteemed peers like the Impact Kenya, Horizon Ventures, and Institute for Culture and Ecology (ICE Kenya), this event was an important step to fostering connections between like-minded organizations and paving the way for a sustainable future for impactful project implementation.
