Towards a Just(ice) Economy
Our investor, the HiiL Innovating Justice Accelerator, produced a short documentary on the justice needs of small & informal business owners in Uganda. Starring our Field Manger, David Orega, the video features Sauti as one of the innovative social enterprises leveraging East Africa’s fast paced trade and business environment to empower business owners and relieve the justice needs of SMEs. The video was produced and directed by Nathalie Dijkman and co-produced by Daug Mulumba.
Sauti Visits Kampala
In July, Sauti traveled to Kampala, Uganda to meet with our partners EASSI, Infotrade, Farmgain and key government and civil society stakeholders, including UNBS, URA, JLOS, MEACA, MTIC, and UWEAL to introduce our initiative, solicit their support and explore potential areas of collaboration.
Sauti met with the Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association Limited (UWEAL) to discuss making our mobile platform available to their 4000 members. Make sure to check out their online EAC Trade Information Point.
Our real-time border reports dashboard is now live. Visit the page to see the latest incident reports coming in from the border.
Africa YouthConnekt
Thanks to the generous support of GIZ, Sauti was one of the IIDEA innovations showcased at the inaugural YouthConnekt Africa Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda. Hosted by H.E. President Paul Kagame, the event brought together youth and policymakers from across Africa to influence and implement youth policies and share knowledge & ideas that can assist the youth in achieving their goals.
