Looking ahead, Lance will serve in an interim CEO capacity to ensure a smooth transition to Sauti’s next stage of growth.

This report leverages the unique analytical perspective from Sauti East Africa to document traders’ changes in business behaviour in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For this report, we present behavioural insights from our mobile-based market information platforms in two East African countries: Kenya and Rwanda.

Sauti’s Quarterly User Insights Report: October – December 2020

In this quarterly report, we have analysed user growth and interactions with the Sauti platforms in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Over the past three months, Sauti gained 2,717 new users. Most of this growth has come from our Tanzania platform which we launched in February earlier this year. In July, we added weather information to the Kenyan and Tanzanian platforms, which resulted in over 20 percent of information requests on each of these platforms in the past quarter.

As we come to the end of 2020, we want to thank our clients and stakeholders for supporting the growth and use of Sauti’s digitized platforms. Everyone’s support and contributions have enabled us to continue building innovative and accessible channels for business and social welfare information for East Africa’s women led businesses. As we close 2020, more than 20,000 people are using Sauti’s information platforms!

Sauti joins the Council of Governors in Western Kenya for outreach activities

Corruption and gender inequality are closely related to one another in occurrence. Men and women are affected by corruption in different ways, and are subjects and objects of different corrupt behaviors and practices. Corruption tends to also be one of the major impediments to development and economic growth in developing countries and Kenya is no exception.
